Introduction to Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S3

Bowers & Wilkins has revamped its noise-canceling headphone lineup with the new Bowers & Wilkins PX7 S3. Priced at approximately $540, the PX7 S3 is expected to set the standard for headphones in this price range. Although they will be available in the United States, their release has been delayed due to tariff issues.

Stylish Options and Impressive Sound

The headphones are available in three stylish colors: anthracite black, dark blue, and white. A little secret? They sound absolutely fantastic! I'll be sharing a full review soon, especially after I've had more time with the launch version of the Bowers' Music app, which comes included with the headphones. However, it’s safe to say they deserve high praise.

The active noise cancellation (ANC) has also received significant improvements this time around, featuring eight microphones that enhance sound quality and reduce background noise effectively.

Next-Level Headphone Experience

Moreover, the PX7 S3 are not just going to be the best headphones from Bowers & Wilkins this year; the upcoming Bowers & Wilkins PX8 S2 is set to raise the bar even higher later this year, likely around August or September.

Despite looking similar to previous premium models, such as the PX7, PX7 S2, and PX7 S2e, the PX7 S3 has undergone a major redesign. This includes a more compact build based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon S7 Sound Gen 1 chipset, supporting aptX Adaptive 24 bit/96 kHz, and it's capable of supporting aptX Lossless on compatible Snapdragon Sound devices.

The PX7 S3 will also showcase Bluetooth LE support, including Auracast and spatial audio, in future software updates, likely following the release of the PX8 S2.

Battery life is rated at 30 hours with noise cancellation on, which is decent, though not extraordinary by today's standards. You can expect around 7 hours of playback with just a 15-minute quick charge.

Bowers & Wilkins also mentions that the ear cushions and headband of the PX7 S3 can be replaced, though this maintenance should be carried out by trained service engineers rather than end-users.
