Cheryl Tweedy to Manage Liam Payne’s £24 Million Estate for Son Bear

Liam Payne's estate is valued at £24 million and will be managed by Cheryl Tweedy for their son, Bear.

Cheryl Tweedy Takes Charge of Payne's Estate

Cheryl and Liam

Cheryl Tweedy has recently been appointed the administrator of the £24 million estate left behind by Liam Payne, who sadly passed away without leaving a will. The news has sparked conversations about Payne’s legacy and the future of his son, Bear.

A Tragic Loss

The former One Direction star died on October 16 of the previous year. He tragically fell from a third-floor balcony at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires. The prosecutor’s office in Argentina revealed that his cause of death was due to multiple traumas along with internal and external bleeding. He was just 31 years old.

Navigating the Legalities

Liam and Cheryl had a relationship from 2016 to 2018, and together they welcomed their son Bear in March 2017. In the UK, if someone passes away without a will, their spouse and children have the primary right to inherit their assets. As Bear's legal guardian, Cheryl has now taken on the responsibility for managing Liam’s finances and belongings. Alongside her, music industry lawyer Richard Mark Bray has also been appointed as an administrator.

The Financial Landscape

Court documents reveal that the gross value of Liam’s estate amounts to £28,594,888. After accounting for debts and expenses, the net value stands at £24,279,728, as reported by The Guardian.

Honoring Liam Payne's Memory

In March, Payne’s girlfriend, Kate Cassidy, opened up about her grief, stating that she’s “still working on accepting” his death. “I find myself talking about him so much in the present tense … I don’t even feel the need to correct myself because that’s part of my healing journey,” she shared. Cassidy was with Liam in Argentina just before his tragic departure, where they attended a concert featuring his One Direction bandmate, Niall Horan. Before the unfortunate incident, she returned home due to personal responsibilities.

Family's Silent Struggles

Meanwhile, Payne’s family expressed their struggle, stating that the media's intrusion has caused “indescribable, lasting damage” in their lives since his passing.

At the BRIT Awards earlier this year, an emotional tribute was presented in his honor. Host Jack Whitehall remarked that it was time to pay respects to "a very special person who meant so much to so many of the people in this room and to millions around the world."

Legal Implications Following His Death

In the wake of his death, five individuals were arrested and charged in connection with the incident. Among them were Roger Nores, a friend of Liam, and two hotel staff members, Gilda Martin and Esteban Grassi. Thankfully, all three were exonerated of any wrongdoing earlier this year.

In January, a hearing at Buckinghamshire Coroner’s Court confirmed that Liam's death was due to “polytrauma,” which refers to multiple traumatic injuries to various organ systems.
