Chris Brown Arrested in Manchester Over Bottle Attack Before UK Tour

Chris Brown was arrested in Manchester on suspicion of grievous bodily harm related to a 2023 bottle attack incident.

Chris Brown’s Arrest in Manchester

Chris Brown, the 36-year-old singer, was taken into custody early on May 15 in Manchester. The arrest, carried out by the Metropolitan Police, relates to an alleged assault on a music producer in London two years ago. Authorities apprehended Brown at The Lowry Hotel shortly after 2 a.m., hours after he touched down in the city on a private jet.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated:

“A 36-year-old man was arrested at a hotel in Manchester shortly after 2am on Thursday, May 15 on suspicion of grievous bodily harm. He has been taken into custody where he remains. The arrest relates to an incident at a venue in Hanover Square on February 19, 2023. The investigation is being led by detectives from the Central West Area Basic Command Unit.”

This incident involves producer Abraham Diaw, who has accused Brown of assault and also filed a civil lawsuit seeking $16 million in damages for injuries and losses stemming from the alleged attack.

Upcoming Breezy Bowl XX Tour

Despite these legal troubles, Brown is scheduled to kick off his ‘Breezy Bowl XX’ European tour starting June 8 in the Netherlands. The tour will cover multiple countries, including Germany, the UK, Ireland, France, and Portugal before returning to North America in late July.

His UK stops are significant, featuring:

  • Two major concerts at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on June 21 and 22
  • Four concerts at Co-op Live in Manchester on June 15, 16, 24, and July 3

When announcing the tour back in March, Brown shared:

“So excited to be able to share this moment with the world and my amazing fans. I can’t wait to see all y’all’s beautiful faces. I’mma take y’all through these eras, but most importantly give y’all my heart and soul.”

Warning to Fans About Concert Attire

In a recent Instagram Stories post, Brown cautioned his fans against wearing red bandanas to his shows, mentioning humorously:

“I see a lot of the fans collectively telling team breezy to wear red bandannas to the concert. I would highly advise y’all to NOT do that! 🤣”

He encouraged fans to opt for brown bandanas instead, emphasizing positivity during his tour. This advisory is understood to avoid potential gang-related symbolism, as red bandanas are commonly associated with the Bloods gang.
