Oasis Live '25: So Far, So Fuckin’ Brilliant in Toronto

Oasis Live '25 tour is rocking stadiums with classic Brit-pop energy and brotherly vibes, proving this reunion is pure magic.

A Night to Remember in Toronto

I still can’t shake the buzz from that perfect August 24 evening at Toronto’s Rogers Stadium. The first of two sold-out Oasis shows here kicked off the North American leg of their much-anticipated reunion tour with everything you could want: a touch of the U.K.’s famously gloomy weather, a nod to Manchester City’s Poznań celebration, and two solid hours of Brit-pop anthems. All that, with the whimsical presence of a cardboard cut-out of Pep Guardiola—yes, the Man City manager—sporting his blue-and-white scarf, watching over the spectacle.

Liam and Noel Gallagher electrify the stage at Rogers Stadium.

What’s truly remarkable is what wasn’t there: no brotherly beef, no tantrums, no flying guitars or cricket bats, no middle fingers flying. After years of feud and fallout that ended Oasis in 2009, the Gallagher brothers have buried the hatchet, much to the delight of fans worldwide. Announcing the reunion a year ago already sent shockwaves, but seeing it come alive on stage is something else entirely.

The Reunion Tour’s Winning Streak

The UK leg of Oasis Live ’25 kicked off earlier this summer with sold-out shows in Cardiff, Manchester (their beloved hometown), and London, with stadiums packed full of fans eager to relive the golden days. These aren’t just nostalgia gigs; Oasis is playing at stadiums holding 75,000 to 90,000 people — a scale they never quite reached in North America during their '90s prime. It’s like the band has finally caught up to the global mania they sparked decades ago.

Fans soak in the iconic Oasis reunion show in Toronto.

Perhaps Pep Guardiola’s unflinching gaze from the sidelines reminds the brothers that they’re on the same team—Oasis—and that it’s time to play nice. Though rock ‘n’ roll can keep you young at heart (Noel is 58, Liam 52), it’s wild to think this all began over 30 years ago with their 1994 debut, Definitely Maybe, which instantly made them rock royalty. Their 1995 follow-up, (What’s The Story) Morning Glory, cemented their legacy, selling around 75 million albums globally over 15 years. That’s a lot of anthems to live up to.

Toronto’s Electric Atmosphere

Oasis last played Toronto back in 2008 at the Virgin Festival, a show famously marred by a fan assault on Noel that broke three ribs. Fast forward 17 years, and the anticipation for this reunion tour is palpable. As the massive screen across the stadium flashed headlines like “Liam and Noel on speaking terms again,” the crowd roared when the brothers finally appeared, holding hands and embracing—a moment of pure, unfiltered joy.

Noel and Liam Gallagher share the stage, reigniting the magic.

Starting with “Hello,” the band sprang to life and didn’t look back for two hours. The energy was electric and the nostalgia thick in the air.

The Band Behind the Magic

Joining the Gallagher brothers are longtime Oasis members Gem Archer and Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs on guitars, Andy Bell on bass, plus fresh faces: drummer Joey Waronker, keyboardist Christian Madden, and a horn section comprising Alastair White, Joe Auckland, and Steve Hamilton. Their setlist, a 23-song masterclass, split roughly half between classic tracks from their first two albums, staying true to the UK shows.

The band kept the crowd pogoing with “Acquiesce,” “Morning Glory,” “Some Might Say,” and “Bring It On Down.” Liam, ever the showman, got the Canadian crowd involved by teaching them the “Poznań” — the iconic Man City-style bounce that’s become a Gallagher trademark.

“Someone said you Canadians are a bit shy and scared,” Liam joked, “but you all smoke pot now, so you’re fuckin’ out of your heads.” He encouraged everyone to turn, hug, and jump together, and, as expected, the crowd nailed it.

“We showed ‘im,” Liam declared triumphantly, his Mancunian accent thick and proud.

The Setlist and the Storm

Between the banter, the brothers mostly let the music speak. Noel shone on guitar and vocals during “Talk Tonight,” “Half the World Away,” and “Little By Little,” while Liam’s laid-back stance at the mic was as cool as ever. Highlights like “Fade Away,” “Supersonic,” and “Roll With It” had fans singing along passionately.

Then came “D’You Know What I Mean?” which Liam dedicated to “the warriors,” a moment that felt prophetic as rain began to fall lightly. By the time they reached “Stand By Me,” “Cast No Shadow,” and “Slide Away,” the rain turned into a full-on downpour, mixed with wind. Fans improvised with boxes on their heads, ponchos from guest services, merch bags, even new swag to stay dry. Liam pulled up his parka hood and joked about the unexpected weather.

“It’s only a bit of rain, man. We’re from Manchester,” he said, laughing. His quip about being told he’d only need shorts and a Bermuda shirt in Toronto’s summer drew laughs as the storm raged on.

Noel chipped in with dry humor: “All this money we’re making and we can’t afford a bit of fucking carpet.”

The Rain Didn’t Dampen Spirits

Despite the storm, the crowd stayed spirited, dancing, hugging, and singing. Songs like “Whatever” (which included a Beatles’ “Octopus’s Garden” nod), “Live Forever,” and “Rock ‘N’ Roll Star” kept the energy soaring. It felt like the universe was testing fans’ devotion—after all, it’s been 16 years since these brothers made peace.

The encore brought the night home with Noel on “The Masterplan” and “Don’t Look Back in Anger,” followed by Liam closing with the iconic “Wonderwall” and “Champagne Supernova.” Before the final notes, Liam thanked the crowd, “It must be a fucking nightmare to support and followin’ that. Nice one for making this happen and allowing us to put the band back on the map again. Respect. We’ll see you in a bit.”

What’s Next for Oasis Live ’25?

Next up, the lads hit Chicago’s Soldier Field on August 28, then East Rutherford’s MetLife Stadium for two shows, and two more at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. After that, they’re off to Mexico City, back to London, then three weeks later, Asia and South America with stops in South Korea, Japan, Australia, Argentina, Chile, and wrapping up in Brazil in late November. By the time this tour closes, the Poznań dance will be a global phenomenon.

Oasis Live ’25 isn’t just a reunion—it's a celebration of brotherhood, iconic music, and the timeless spirit of rock. Can the magic last the whole tour? We’re betting on it.
