He’s joining forces with Mumford & Sons, Caamp, Role Model, flipturn, Gigi Perez, Sam Barber, Leif Vollebekk, Goldford, and Cassandra Coleman for the third-annual Out of the Blue festival. This amazing event is set to take place from January 8th to 11th, 2026, at the luxurious Moon Palace Resort in Riviera Cancún, Mexico.

Tickets for this all-inclusive experience go on sale July 23. They include ocean-view or swim-up luxury accommodations, round-trip airport transfers, unlimited top-shelf beverages, and gourmet dining with 24-hour room service. Sounds like the perfect getaway combined with great music, doesn’t it?

Out of the Blue will mark Noah’s first show of 2026, as he’s currently working on follow-up material to his 2022 breakthrough album, Stick Season. Before then, he’s set to play multiple North American festivals this fall, kicking off with Rock the Runway on September 12 in London, Ontario.

My Morning Jacket’s Big Night: Austin City Limits Hall of Fame Induction

In exciting news for fans of My Morning Jacket, famed filmmaker and writer Cameron Crowe will induct the band into the Austin City Limits (ACL) Hall of Fame during their free performance on August 1st, part of the iconic PBS-televised concert series.

The 51st season of Austin City Limits will premiere in October, featuring highlights from that very show. MMJ joins a legendary list of inductees including Willie Nelson, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Kris Kristofferson, Bonnie Raitt, and Wilco, who have all been honored since 2014.

“MMJ has the rarest kind of mastery. Their songs explode with passion and feeling on stage and in the studio,” said Crowe, who also featured them in film soundtracks like Elizabethtown (they even acted in the movie). “They’ve long been one of my favorite bands. I can’t wait for a chance to see them play again on the ACL stage.”

Tortoise Hits the Road with New Music and Orchestra Collaboration

Chicago’s experimental instrumental giants, Tortoise, are back on the road this fall to support their first new album since 2016’s The Catastrophist. Though the album’s title remains a mystery, it will be their debut release under International Anthem/Nonesuch after over 30 years with their hometown indie label, Thrill Jockey.

Their tour starts on October 18th at The Broad in Los Angeles, and a standout show is scheduled for November 11th at Chicago’s Auditorium Theatre, where they’ll perform alongside the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra. This special event marks the first time Tortoise will showcase their material with a live orchestra, promising a unique and powerful experience.

Earlier this spring, Tortoise released the single “Oganesson,” followed by a remix EP featuring contributions from notable artists like Broken Social Scene, Saul Williams, Makaya McCraven, and Heba Kadry.

In related news, fellow Chicago experimental musician Sam Prekop is dropping a new electronic album titled Open Close on September 26 through Thrill Jockey. Prekop collaborates with Tortoise’s John McEntire in the band Sea & Cake, and together they released the critically acclaimed 2022 album Sons Of.
