Triangle Capella 2 Speakers Upgrade Sound Quality and Add Spotify & Tidal Support

Triangle Capella 2 speakers bring enhanced sound and modern streaming features like Spotify Connect Lossless and Tidal Connect for audio enthusiasts.

A Fresh Take on Wireless Active Speakers

If you’ve ever been smitten with the original Triangle Capella wireless active speakers, you’re in for a treat with the new Capella 2. This French audio maker clearly took the feedback from the first model seriously and has fine-tuned both sound and features to deliver a cleaner, richer listening experience.

The lineup kicks off with an upgraded Stereo Hub 2 network player, which now supports Spotify Connect Lossless and Tidal Connect—two streaming essentials that were missing from the initial release. It’s obvious Triangle is reaching out to audiophiles who crave high-quality sound paired with the convenience of modern streaming platforms.

Enhanced Connectivity and Control

The Stereo Hub 2 isn’t just about streaming upgrades. It boasts a dedicated Ethernet port to ensure rock-solid wired network connections, while Wi-Fi remains an option for those who want to keep their setup cable-free.

One of the standout additions is a dedicated subwoofer output, customizable via Triangle’s Capella app. This means you can effortlessly boost your system’s low-frequency performance, dialing in just the right amount of bass to suit your room and taste.

Under the hood, the hub runs on a quad-core Cortex A53 processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, promising snappier response times compared to its predecessor. For anyone who’s ever been frustrated by laggy audio gear, this is a welcome improvement.

Wireless Audio with Precision and Power

Wireless connection between the hub and speakers utilizes WiSA technology, a low-latency protocol supporting high-resolution audio up to 24-bit/96kHz. For fans of pristine sound, this means the Capella 2 system can deliver every detail with minimal delay.

Inside each speaker, you’ll find a dual-channel Class D amplifier pushing 100 watts per channel. Separate amps and DACs power a 25mm magnesium alloy horn tweeter and a 165mm natural cellulose mid/bass driver, a combination designed to offer both clarity and punch.

More Inputs Than You Can Shake a Cable At

The Capella 2 system doesn’t skimp on connectivity. It features:

  • HDMI eARC with CEC support
  • Three optical inputs
  • Coaxial input
  • USB-B
  • RCA stereo
  • 3.5mm analog inputs

Wireless options are equally generous: Bluetooth 5.2, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, UPnP/DLNA, plus Roon Ready certification for home audiophiles.

Smarter Room Calibration and User-Friendly Features

To get the most out of your listening environment, the system offers automatic room calibration through iOS devices or an optional Zen microphone from Triangle. If you prefer a hands-on approach, there’s a manual equalizer in the app for fine-tuning the sound yourself.

Adding to the convenience, Capella 2 comes with a sleek new remote control featuring USB-C charging. No more hunting for batteries—just plug in and top up.

Style Meets Substance with Fresh Finishes

Beyond the tech, Capella 2 offers a fresh palette of finishes: Space Black, English Green, and Oak join the line to complement the existing Astral Blue and Space White options. So whether your décor leans modern or classic, there’s a look to match.

Remembering the Original Capella Sound

When we first got hands-on with the original Capella, we loved its energetic sound signature, tight and lively bass, and an impressive stereo image that pulled you right into the music. The system excelled at transmitting musical energy, even though it leaned slightly toward attack and speed over silky highs.

Its grip and control outpaced many similarly priced passive speakers, giving it an edge in dynamic performance.

Yet, we felt the midrange could use a bit more warmth and softness—qualities that make voice and instruments sound more natural. Also, the feature set left room for improvement. Triangle seems to have addressed many of these with Capella 2, though we haven't had a chance to test it yet ourselves.

Pricing and Availability

The full Triangle Capella 2 system—both speakers, the Stereo Hub 2, and accessories—comes in at around $2,700. Additional speaker stands (model S05) are priced around $300 per pair. Looks like the upgraded system will hit stores early 2026.

Triangle clearly listened to its fans and improved the Capella with cleaner sound and modern streaming, making it a strong contender in wireless audio.
