This EP follows their debut, This Better Be Something Great, which dropped in August via Nice Swan Recordings/Heist Or Hit and was produced by none other than Lewis Whiting of English Teacher fame. Talk about a perfect pairing for that authentic yet fresh country sound!

From Glastonbury Glory to Island Records: Their Rise to the Spotlight

These guys aren’t just another indie band. Westside Cowboy snagged the 2025 Glastonbury Emerging Talent Competition title—a massive nod that put them on every music lover’s radar. Their win was a well-deserved acknowledgment of their compelling blend of storytelling and sound, which effortlessly fuses Americana with British roots.

Now, stepping up their game, Westside Cowboy have inked a deal with Island Records imprint Adventure Recordings. With this new backing, their upcoming EP promises to reach even wider audiences hungry for that rich, twangy vibe.

A Taste of ‘So Much Country ‘Till We Get There’: The Lead Single ‘Don’t Throw Rocks’

The EP will drop on January 16 and features five tracks. Leading the charge is ‘Don’t Throw Rocks’, a song that’s equal parts nostalgic and electrifying. It cradles you with twinkling guitar tones that swiftly morph into passionate wails—a sonic journey that perfectly mirrors the song’s themes of time and change.

Here’s the official video for a listen:

The band shared some insight into the track’s heart:

“Jimmy’s [Bradbury] lyrics on this deal a lot in time and change, and how it, more often than not, moves out of our control and without niceties. We wanted the music to reflect this too. With each section, we wanted to add a new gear, to increase the intensity until it couldn’t be held onto anymore. I guess that’s where the outro comes in. This felt like the natural first single for ‘So Much Country…’, we all kinda knew once we’d heard it back.”

What Winning Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Means to Westside Cowboy

Earlier this year, vocalist Aoife Anson O’Connell opened up about the band's incredible win at Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent Competition:

“It feels amazing but it’s really hard to process. We’re so lucky, we’ve had the most insane luck for a year and it’s just happened again. We’re the most jammy people in the world, maybe I should start gambling! We’ve had so many achievements that mean so much to us in such a short space of time but this means the most. It means so much to everyone in the band, I just vividly remember growing up watching the Glastonbury sets on the telly.”

— Aoife Anson O’Connell

That kind of humility and passion shines through in every note they play.
