Wolf Alice’s Joff Oddie to Miss North American Tour for Baby Arrival

Wolf Alice’s Joff Oddie steps back from the North American tour as he awaits the joyous arrival of his first baby.

A Bittersweet Announcement from Wolf Alice’s Guitarist

If you’re a Wolf Alice fan like me, you know how much their live shows mean — the energy, the raw emotion, that signature blend of grit and melody. So hearing that guitarist Joff Oddie will be sitting out the band's upcoming North American tour hits a little differently. But hey, life throws the best surprises, and this one’s a beautiful one.

Joff shared the news on the band’s official Facebook page on September 8, 2025, saying, “Hey Joff here. Just wanted to let you all know I won’t be joining the guys on our North American tour as I’m awaiting the birth of my first baby. I’m sad I won’t be with you but I’ll be leaving you in the capable hands of John Victor who is one of my fav all time guitarists and a lovely man to boot.”

It’s heartwarming to know he’s passing the torch to someone he trusts so deeply during this special time.

John Victor Steps In: A Cool Replacement

For those who don’t already know, John Victor hails from the indie rock band Gengahr, who made waves with their 2023 album Red Sun Titans and a solid UK and European tour. Having John in the lineup is definitely a win — his style complements Wolf Alice’s vibe perfectly.

Then, in November, the band heads to Europe with dates spanning Sweden, Germany, France, and more before wrapping up the year with a UK and Ireland run. The AO Arena in Manchester lights up November 28, leading to the finale in Dublin’s 3Arena on December 10.

Celebrating ‘The Clearing’ and New Music Vibes

The Clearing, Wolf Alice’s fourth album, received glowing praise, with one review highlighting how the band just keeps getting better with every record, raising the bar on themselves once again. That’s no small feat for a group already celebrated with a Mercury Prize win.

And if you haven’t heard it yet, they recently dropped the epic single “Bloom Baby Bloom” — a powerful anthem that feels like the perfect soundtrack to both new beginnings and personal transformations, maybe even like what Joff is experiencing right now with his growing family.

Check out this insightful video where Wolf Alice chats about their journey, new music, and a decade of My Love Is Cool at Glastonbury 2025:

A Band That Keeps Evolving

What’s truly inspiring about Wolf Alice is how they manage to evolve yet stay authentic. Their recent cover of Olivia Dean’s “Nice To Each Other” on BBC Radio One’s Live Lounge showcased their versatility and respect for fellow artists. It’s the kind of setlist mix that keeps fans like me coming back for more.

“I’m sad I won’t be with you but I’ll be leaving you in the capable hands of John Victor who is one of my fav all time guitarists and a lovely man to boot.”
